A Perfect Location in the Heart of Sonoma

Overview

Visitors to Sonoma Valley have always been drawn to the center of the town of Sonoma.  It was here in June of 1846 that American settlers, rebelling against Mexican rule, defiantly raised the bear flag declared California an independent republic.  The eight-acre Sonoma Plaza retains its historic feel, while remaining the focus of local activities.

What You'll Find On the Sonoma Plaza

There's no better place to anchor your visit than being near the Sonoma Plaza, the #1 attraction in all of Sonoma County.  The Plaza is a pedestrian paradise with old adobe storefronts, meandering alleyways, sunlit courtyards, historic landmarks, world-class restaurants, tasting rooms, galleries, and a vintage movie house.  The Plaza itself, with vast green stretches of lawn & canopies, creates a lush setting for picnics, cultural activities, concerns, sports events, and weekly farmer's markets.
